Vegas Movie Studio 11 Released

Sony has released Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. This latest “studio” edition of Vegas continues to close the gap between it and Vegas Pro. The list of updates looks awfully familiar to the one we saw for Vegas Pro 10.0d. And for an added bonus, the new VMS comes with a pair of 3D glasses to use along with the stereoscopic 3D tool.
Here’s a partial list what’s new:
  • Stereoscopic 3D editing, upload to YouTube 3D, and 3D Blu-ray Disc burning.
  • New Titles & Text plug-in.
  • New video plug-in SDK with updated controls for keyframe animation.
  • Added support for 50p and 60p projects, capture, and print to tape
  • Audio event effects
  • Improved usability of the Trimmer and Video Preview windows
  • Device Explorer improvements
  • Improved performance when reading QuickTime AVC and QuickTime AVC/H.264 video
  • Added support for reading MVC video
  • Added support for rendering MVC video with the Sony AVC/MVC plug-in
  • Added support for reading MPO (multiple picture object) 3D still images and sweep panorama images
  • Improved support for GPU-accelerated AVC rendering using the Sony AVC/MVC plug-in
See the Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 page for more details. What do you think, Vegas Pro users? Would you consider stepping “down” to the Studio edition, given how far it’s come? Or is there still enough in Pro for you to pay the higher price tag?
